Getting started

michav

The process starts by calling our main number at 312-540-9955 and asking to speak with our Intake Department. At this time you will be able to get the answers to any questions you may have. You will be asked to provide some general information about yourself, in order to best service you.

The Intake Coordinator will then proceed to schedule an initial assessment. The purpose of the initial assessment is to evaluate your needs so that we can make the best possible recommendations for your treatment.

Please follow the steps below to assure a smooth transition into the program.

  1. Attend a 90 minute initial assessment with an Insight Staff Therapist. You will complete initial paperwork at this time. During this assessment, you will be asked to provide information pertaining to current and past psychological symptoms and treatment, as well as current and past eating disorder symptoms and treatment. The goal of the assessment is to determine the level of treatment that is most appropriate to meet your needs. After the interview, the therapist will consult with the Insight team and contact you with our recommendations.
  2. If the team determines that a more intensive treatment program at Insight is appropriate, you will receive referrals for an individual therapist, dietitian, medical doctor and psychiatrist if you do not already have them. You will also be assigned a point person at Insight who is your "go to" person with questions or concerns while in the program. You are welcome to continue to see any outside providers while at Insight. We require that you have an individual therapist while in the Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient Programs, whether it is an Insight therapist or someone outside of Insight.
  3. If you have providers outside of Insight, your point person will act as your case manager during your time in the program.
  4. If you are joining either the PHP or IOP, we ask that you meet with one of our Registered Dietitians regarding the meal groups, get current labs drawn for medical clearance and meet with your point person or Insight Therapist who will prepare you for your time at Insight. Once assigned, your point person will contact you to schedule an initial appointment. During this appointment, you will be oriented to the program, including a review of expectations and guidelines for treatment. You will develop a treatment plan with your point person that will lay out your specific program components while at Insight.
  5. Insight's Billing Coordinator will help you with your insurance coverage. Please have your insurance information available during your initial intake call. She will contact your insurance company to receive pre-certification and will let you know how many sessions have been authorized for coverage. This is not a guarantee of reimbursement by your insurance company.Insurance companies will not tell you definitively that they will cover the claims filed until they receive them. We ask that you provide a deposit to cover any charges not reimbursed by insurance. We are in network for Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the Northwestern University insurance. We are out of network for all other insurances.
