Jenny H. Conviser, Psy D

Co-Director

Dr. Jenny Conviser is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Certified Sport Psychologist specializing in eating disorders, weight management, sport psychology and women's issues. Dr. Conviser is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Medical School of Northwestern University, and serves on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She was Staff Psychologist at the Northwestern Weight Management and Eating Disorders Program for many years.

Susan F. McClanahan, Ph D

Co-Director

Dr. Susan McClanahan is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia and compulsive overeating. Dr. McClanahan is a Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry in Northwestern University Medical School, where she supervises and teaches graduate and medical students. She lectures on eating disorders to medical students, professional organizations and the general public. She was the Program Coordinator and Staff Psychologist for Northwestern Weight and Eating disorders Program for seven years. Dr. McClanahan frequently works with clients struggling with depressive and anxiety disorders. Dr. McClanahan is an expert in the psychological aspects of pregnancy and infertility and is available for individual and couples consultation.

William D. Ciganek, MD

Medical Director

Dr. William Ciganek is a board-certified psychiatrist on the staff of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and a Clinical Instructor at the Feinberg School of Medicine of Northwestern University. He has worked in the treatment of eating disorders and obesity since his residency and has served as a consultant for Insight Psychological Centers since its founding. Dr. Ciganek earned his M.D. from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine.

Barry E. Norman, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Barry Norman is a psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mood, anxiety and eating disorders. He employs a multi-dimensional approach to treatment that incorporates psychological, pharmacological, behavioral and nutritional therapies. Dr. Norman integrates his clinical expertise with ongoing academic research into the etiology, pathogenesis and management of psychiatric conditions, utilizing evidence from both realms to develop optimal treatment strategies for his clients. He is currently the Principal Investigator of a multi-site research study and creator of the Norman Caloric Restriction Instrument (NCRI). Dr. Norman earned his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and his Doctorate in Medicine from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, before completing his residency in Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center.

Angela P. Derrick, Ph D, RYT

Director of Clinical Training

Dr. Derrick is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Assistant Director of Insight where she coordinates the downtown eating disorder intensive outpatient program. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Georgia State University and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Additionally, she has trained at the Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders and Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Wellness Institute. Dr. Derrick specializes in individual and group psychotherapy with individuals struggling with eating, weight, and body dissatisfaction. Her clinical and research interests include personality and sociocultural determinants of eating disorder symptomatology. She is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders and has presented at national and international conferences. In addition, Dr. Derrick is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance and the coordinator of Insight's yoga services.

Ellen Astrachan-Fletcher, Ph D

Director of Adolescent and Family Services

Dr. Astrachan-Fletcher comes to us with a wealth and breadth of experience treating patients with eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders. Dr. Fletcher is currently an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UIC. She founded and directed the Eating Disorders Clinic in the Department of Psychiatry at UIC Medical Center. She has over 10 years of clinical and teaching experience in the field of eating disorders and women's mental health issues. She is a nationally recognized expert in the field of DBT, is functionally trained in the FBT model, and is a frequent presenter at national eating disorders conferences. She has taught and supervised Psychiatry residents and fellows as well as Clinical Psychology interns and externs for many years. Dr. Astrachan-Fletcher also co-authored The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook for Bulimia: Using DBT to Break the Cycle and Regain Control of Your Life (2009), which is used at eating disorders treatment facilities throughout the country, including Insight.

Rosie Barranco, LCPC, CADC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Rosie Barranco, LCPC, CADC is a licensed professional counselor and also specializes in Substance Abuse Counseling. She also has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT) through Phoenix Interfaith and has used these clinical skills in assisting with the clients she has worked with in her professional career. She has worked in several psychiatric treatment facilities throughout Arizona and has helped rebuild teens confidence and restored their family dynamics. In addition to working in treatment centers, she also has extensive experience in counseling adult men and women who have a history of chemical dependency and criminal conduct behaviors. She has helped provide group and vocational counseling and life skills to those clients working on reintegrating back into the community. In private practice, she specializes in working with clients dealing with PTSD, sexual abuse, social skills, physical abuse, woman's issues, bereavement, mental illness, low self esteem, ADHD, relationship skill building, communication skill building, and personality disorders. In addition to the utilization of DBT, she also incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help challenge the client's thought process that impedes success in life.

Ashley Barrient is a Registered, Licensed Dietitian and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She received a Master of Education degree in Counseling and the Dietetic Internship Program certificate of completion from Loyola University Chicago. Ashley is certified as a personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Her experience includes: inpatient and outpatient individual nutrition counseling, facilitation of psychoeducational and process groups, wellness program development, and guest presenter opportunities. Ashley utilizes her background in nutrition, fitness, and mental health counseling to assist individuals in achieving their own definition of wellness.

Dr. Jennifer Bradtke received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and completed her internship at the Arizona State Hospital. Prior to Insight, she developed the Office of Health and Wellness at Northwestern University's Qatar campus and worked as the Director of Research for The Sleep and Behavior Medicine Institute. Over the years, Dr. Bradtke has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and groups. Her clinical interests include program development, cultural issues, sexuality, and mood disorders. She is the Program Coordinator for Insight's Partial Hospitalization Program.

Dr. Stacy Clark received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Loyola University Chicago and completed her internship at the University of Michigan's counseling center where she received specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders among college women and student athletes. Prior to Insight, she worked at Northwestern University's Counseling and Psychological Services focusing on eating disorders and issues related to athletes. She has several years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. Her clinical interests include body dissatisfaction, perfectionism, and peak performance among athletes.

David Cohen is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), a licensed school social worker (Type 73) and a certified drug and alcohol counselor (CADC) in the state of Illinois specializing in substance abuse, eating disorders, and family therapy. Dr. Jason Conviser is a nationally recognized exercise physiologist and an expert on fitness evaluation, exercise prescription and program design. He works exclusively with individuals diagnosed with obesity, morbid obesity, hypertension, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, arthritis and those with physical limitations due chronic disease and aging. Dr. Conviser earned his doctorate from the University Of Wisconsin and holds an MBA from Northwestern.

Allyson Goodin, LSW

Licensed Social Worker

Allyson Goodin received her Masters of Social Work from Boston College with a focus in health and mental health. She graduated from Saint Louis University with a BA in psychology. Allyson has worked in a variety of positions and settings including as an advocate for youth in the court system, at a residential treatment facility, in the juvenile detention center and at a women's safe house. In Boston, she interned at a day treatment program, a therapeutic after school, and at a partial hospitalization program where she provided group therapy and clinical case management to children, adolescents and adults. Allyson utilizes a strengths based perspective often combining cognitive behavioral and systemic approaches in her work with clients. Allyson co-facilitates the MERIT groups at Insight and is an individual counselor in the downtown Chicago office.

Richard Jakubik, LCSW, MDiv, Psy D

Richard Jakubik is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University, with a concentration in Health Psychology. Dr. Jakubik completed his internship at Grand Prairie Services, a community health center, where he provided individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, he holds a Masters Degree in Theology from the University of St. Mary of the Lake. Dr. Jakubik takes a holistic approach to patient care that incorporates the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health of the individual.

Linsey Johnson received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Before joining Insight, she worked at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a community mental health center, and in various Chicago schools. Dr. Johnson has treated a diverse population of clients, including those who experienced anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, eating disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, and Autism spectrum disorders. She conducted research on eating and weight-related disorders in Latina adolescents and has presented on symptoms, prevention, and treatment of eating disorders. Dr. Johnson's clinical interests include helping those struggling with eating disorders, obesity, anxiety, and mood disorders.

Alison Larkin, LCSW, CADC

Alison Larkin received her Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a BS in Psychology from Indiana University. She provides individual and group skills training and therapy and facilitates the multi-family therapy group at the Evanston location. Her experience includes managing a residential program for adults with serious mental illness, extensive work with adolescents struggling with recovery from addiction and their families, and clinical practice in a variety of settings. Alison's specialties include substance abuse, eating disorders, gender and sexuality, and depression and anxiety.

Katie received her MA Counseling Psychology: Art Therapy and Certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Katie joined Insight's team in 2006. Since then, she completed her post-graduate work toward her CADC at Hazelden Chicago. She also worked as adjunct faculty, advising and teaching art therapy students at the Adler School. Katie leads groups in the Evanston and Downtown location and works with people individually. She has special interest in the areas of anxiety and adjustment disorders, chemical dependency treatment, creating artwork as a therapeutic process, gender and sexuality.

Glenn McClanahan, Ph D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Glenn McClanahan, Ph D is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of individuals, couples, and families struggling with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Dr. McClanahan received his M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University in Chicago. He trained as an intern and Fellow at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and worked there as a staff psychologist as well. Dr. McClanahan also has an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He was an Assistant Vice President in the Employee Assistance Program at a fortune 500 corporation for 14 years, where he provided therapeutic services and consultation to employees at all levels. He has worked with hundreds of couples in his private practice and has particular expertise in working with couples in conflictual relationships.

Sarah K. Nicoletta, Psy D

Dr. Sarah K. Nicoletta received her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2008. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Cambridge Eating Disorder Center located in Cambridge, MA where she received specialized training in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and comorbid symptomology among adolescent and young adult women within a residential milieu. Additionally, she completed her internship at Franciscan Hospital for Children where she provided individual and group therapy to children and adolescents on a short-term residential stabilization unit, outpatient therapy, and comprehensive psychological assessments. Dr. Nicoletta specializes in individual and family therapy, residential treatment, and working with adolescent and adult women who struggle with body dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships. Her clinical interests include understanding individual/family dynamics and the development of eating disorders, program development, and staff training.

Dr. Jennifer L. Rolnick received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, Chicago, formerly known as the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Rolnick completed her internship at the Ohio Psychology Internship Consortium and is currently completing her postdoctoral fellowship. Dr. Rolnick's clinical interests are helping children, adolescents, and adults who struggle with adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression and trauma. She also has an interest in and provides psychological testing. Dr. Rolnick works with clients on both an individual and group basis, primarily utilizing a psychodynamic and relational approach to therapy.

Anna Roth, MA, RYT

Anna Roth received her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Minnesota in 2008, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Counseling with a concentration in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices at the University of Minnesota. She has completed 3 years of graduate clinical training; two years of which were spent in college counseling centers and the past year at Insight Psychological Centers working in the eating disorder program. Anna's primary research interests include complex trauma disorders, clinical training and supervision, and building empirical support for the integration of complementary and alternative healing in mental health treatment. Her approach to therapy is psychodynamic, interpersonal, and existential in nature and values authenticity, compassion, and mindfulness of the whole person (mind, body, spirit) in the healing journey.

Lorinda Salbego, LCPC

Lorinda Suthers-Salbego is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who graduated from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Masters in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Counseling and received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Lorinda's clinical experiences range from working with children with Autism to adults and elderly with severe and chronic mental illness. Her treatment focuses include eating disorders, depression, anxiety, women's issues, relationship issues, identity issues and adjustment issues. Lorinda has worked within a variety of settings including outpatient, residential, outreach, transitional living and within schools. Believing that self-empowerment and an emotionally, physically and spiritually balanced self-concept are all essential developments of therapy. Lorinda utilizes insight and awareness based approaches to achieve these ends. Lorinda strives to foster a warm and empathic environment to instill a sense of trust and safety during the therapeutic process.

Ashley is a licensed clinical professional counselor and registered art therapist. She earned a BS in art therapy and studio arts as well as a psychology minor from Edgewood College in 2004 and gained a Master of Arts in Art Therapy at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007. Her masters thesis studied women and non suicidal self injury and has been presented at the Wisconsin Art Therapy Association Spring Symposium as well as at Riveredge Hospital. Ashley has worked with women with eating disorders at the Awakening Center, children and teens with serious medical illnesses at Ryno Kid Care and victims of abuse and neglect with Hephzibah Children's Association. Her most recent work includes working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients in a psychiatric inpatient and partial hospitalization program at Riveredge Hospital.

Sarah Sanders, Psy D

Dr. Sarah Sanders is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Insight Psychological Centers, LLC. She received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and has experience working with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings. Dr. Sanders completed her predoctoral internship at Northwestern University and her postdoctoral fellowship at Harper College, gaining significant experience working with life-transition issues, identity development, relationship concerns, disordered eating and body-image concerns, substance abuse, and student mental health. Dr. Sanders areas of interest also include family dynamics, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and self-harm. Dr. Sanders individualizes her treatment approach to the specific needs of each client, often combining dynamic-relational, cognitive-dialectical-behavioral, and systemic-cultural approaches. In addition to seeing individual therapy clients, Dr. Sanders co-leads the MERIT (Multidisciplinary Eating Recovery Intensive Treatment) intensive outpatient programming.

Samantha Satz, LSW

Samantha Satz received her Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University with a specialization in mental health counseling within children and families. She graduated from Indiana University with a BA in Psychology and Gender Studies. She trained as an intern with Jewish Family Services counseling older adults. She interned with an inner city private high school working with at risk youth through individual counseling as well as creating and facilitating self esteem and healthy relationship groups. She then worked at Klein & Stiffel JCCs in Philadelphia as a counselor for a grant funded program ensuring physical and psychological safety. She co-facilitates MERIT groups at Insight, works with residents in our transitional living facility, as well as individual counseling in the downtown Chicago office.

Lara Schuster, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Lara graduated from Loyola University with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work and a BA in Psychology from Oberlin College. She is currently the Program Coordinator for the Mood and Anxiety Program at Insight's downtown location and has been the Dialectical Behavior Therapist since 2007. She received Dialectical Behavior Therapy training through Marsha Linehan's teaching methods. Lara has worked at Insight since 2006, specializing in eating disorders, binge eating, mindful eating, depression, bipolar and anxiety disorders. Lara works with clients on an individual and group basis in a psychodynamic and/or DBT skills based orientation.

Jessica Schwartz, LSW

Staff Therapist

Jessica Schwartz received her Masters of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with a specialization in child and family services and health. She graduated from the University of Michigan with BA and then worked at University of Chicago Medical Center for two years coordinating women's health and sex research prior to pursuing her graduate studies in social work. Jessica trained as an intern at the University of Illinois at Chicago women's outpatient health clinic doing options counseling as well as counseling high risk pregnancy, teen pregnancy, infertility, and pregnancy loss patients. She also interned in an inner city school on the south side of Chicago counseling high risk adolescents and creating and facilitating groups with fourth through eighth graders centered around healthy decision making and health. Jessica co-facilitates Merit groups at Insight and works in the billing department obtaining PHP and IOP authorizations for clients.

Angela Shuey, LCPC

Angela Shuey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Angela received her Masters of Arts degree upon graduation from the Community and Mental Health Counseling Program at Roosevelt University. Angela has received certification in the areas concerning child welfare, divorce mediation, domestic violence, and protective factors. Over the years Angela has worked with groups, individuals, families/couples, children and adolescents. Angela's work has taken place in agencies, in-home counseling, and group homes. Angela specializes in relationship difficulties, trauma, substance abuse/addiction, self-harm behaviors, and issues relating to self-esteem and self-empowerment. Through compassion and dedication Angela works toward establishing a safe and trusting environment within the counseling relationship. Angela will be providing individual therapy to the patients of Insight and will be conducting group therapy for the Inspire Program both in Chicago and Northbrook.

Chris Skinner is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Loyola University-Chicago. Additionally, she obtained her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. She has years of experience working with children, adolescents and families in a variety of settings, including residential, hospitals, and outpatient therapy. She has conducted various assessments, therapy groups, social skills training classes, as well as parenting education classes. Prior to joining Insight, Chris worked at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, where she conducted intake assessments. She also held a private practice working with individuals suffering from eating disorders and self-injury. She is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association.

Erika Siesennop is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in both Dietetics and Nutrition & Fitness at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Erika completed her dietetic internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Her experience includes working as an inpatient dietitian in both an acute and long-term care hospital. Her interests include helping individuals to overcome nutritional challenges in order to achieve overall health.

Ashley Solomon, Psy D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Ashley Solomon received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Xavier University in 2010. She received her BA in psychology from the University of Dayton. She completed her predoctoral internship at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, where she focused on eating disorders, older adults, and severe mental illness. Dr. Solomon's research interests are in prevention of eating disorders and the use of media literacy in improving body dissatisfaction. She also has special interests in the use of social media in recovery, as well as in administration. Dr. Solomon takes a holistic approach to treatment and specializes in the use of the therapeutic relationship in the change process.

Michelle Stahley, LCPC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Michelle Stahley received her Masters in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2007 and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients, empowering them to create change while respecting their individual experience. Prior to joining Insight Michelle worked in community mental health at The Josselyn Center, where she provided individual and group therapy, case management, and psychoeducational groups to a wide variety of clients. She has completed additional training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and has completed Illinois' 40 Hour Domestic Violence Training. Michelle's therapeutic interests include women's issues, eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, domestic violence, and chronic mental illness

Andrea Stone, Psy D

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Andrea Stone is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in eating disorders, trauma and abuse, divorce/blended families and mood disorders. Dr. Stone integrates holistic treatment approaches in her work with children, adolescents and adults. Before joining Insight, she worked in a variety of clinical settings including community mental health, hospital-based, school and private practice. Dr. Stone attended Washington University in St. Louis and the Illinois School of Professional Psychology where she received her Psy.D. and minored in couple and family therapy.

Jenni Strobel, LSW

Licensed Social Worker

Jenni received her Masters of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. She has worked in community mental health and school social work (Type 73 certified). As an intern in the New Trier High School Social Work Department, Jenni worked with individuals, groups, and families within a multidisciplinary team. Her clinical interests include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma, and women's issues. She is currently co-facilitating MAP and MERIT groups, working with individuals, and is the assistant coordinator of Insight's Transitional Living Services.
